Watching another clogging group

I had the chance to watch a friend of mine’s clogging group performing at the Indiana State Fair. The are a recreational clogging like us, with a similar style. I watched each dancer as they performed with their own style and abilities. Some put a lot more energy into than others, which is very similar to our group. However, I left with a different view point than I had prior to watching them. As an instructor your goal is to provide the best show you can each time you perform. Drawing a crowd and keeping it is always a huge plus. I am always judging my performance and watching to see how my group is doing as a whole on each song. Some songs go better than others for each dancer. As I set and watched I came to realize most of the time I am more critical to myself than I really need to be. I have always known I have great group of dancers who thoroughly appreciate all I do. As long as each of them are enjoying themselves, including me, that is all that really matters.
